[Dear Brooks] "WAKE UP CALL" | Stimulating Shampoo + Conditioner Bars
Peppermint Shampoo + Conditioner Bars
CLEANSE • REFRESH • CONDITION
Consider this your shower’s wake-up call.
Wake-Up Call is a refreshing peppermint shampoo + conditioner bar duo designed to cleanse away everyday oil, sweat and buildup while leaving hair soft, conditioned and seriously fresh.
The Wake-Up Call Shampoo Bar provides an effective cleanse while peppermint oil delivers that cool, invigorating scalp sensation that makes wash day feel extra refreshing. Coconut oil + cocoa butter add nourishing emollience to the simple, concentrated formula.
Follow with the Wake-Up Call Conditioner Bar, a rich solid conditioner made with cocoa butter plus coconut, olive, wheat germ and jojoba oils to soften, smooth, detangle and restore manageability after cleansing.
No complicated treatment story. No ten-step routine. Just fresh scalp, clean hair + soft, conditioned strands.
WHAT HAIR PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
Wake-Up Call is your everyday “my hair just needs a really good wash” duo.
It's particularly suited to hair that feels:
Oily • Sweaty • Less-than-fresh • Slightly weighed down • Tangled after washing • In need of a simple refresh
I'd also specifically market this one toward active lifestyles. Workout hair, hot summer days, sweaty scalps—this is an easy product to understand.

KEY INGREDIENTS
Peppermint Oil
The star of Wake-Up Call. It provides the fresh peppermint aroma and cooling, invigorating sensation that makes this duo feel so refreshing.
Coconut Oil
Helps condition and soften hair and appears in both the shampoo and conditioner.
Cocoa Butter
A rich emollient that helps soften and condition dry-feeling strands.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Found in the conditioner to provide additional nourishment and softness.
Jojoba Oil
Helps condition hair and improve softness and manageability.
Wheat Germ Oil
Adds another emollient component to the conditioner for softer, smoother-feeling hair.
WAKE-UP CALL SHAMPOO BAR
FULL INGREDIENT LIST
Sodium Coco Sulfate, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Water, Peppermint Oil.
HOW TO USE
Thoroughly wet your hair and shampoo bar.
Glide the wet bar gently over your scalp and roots several times, or rub the bar between wet hands to create a lather.
Massage the lather into your scalp using your fingertips. Work through the lengths as needed, then rinse thoroughly.
Follow with the Wake-Up Call Conditioner Bar.
Allow the bar to dry completely between uses to help extend its life.
PRO TIP: If your lengths tend to be dry, concentrate the shampoo primarily at your roots and scalp. The lather running through the rest of your hair as you rinse is often enough to cleanse the lengths.
WAKE-UP CALL CONDITIONER BAR
FULL INGREDIENT LIST
Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cocoa Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Coconut Oil, Glycerin, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Jojoba Oil, Peppermint Oil.
HOW TO USE
After shampooing, wet the conditioner bar thoroughly.
Glide directly over wet hair, concentrating primarily on the mid-lengths and ends.
Work the conditioner through your hair with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb and allow it to condition for approximately 1–3 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly.
Fine hair may only need a few passes, while thicker or drier hair may prefer a little more.
Allow the conditioner bar to dry completely between uses.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What hair type is "Wake-Up Call" best for?
Wake-Up Call is a great all-around option for normal to oily hair and anyone who wants clean, fresh-feeling hair without needing a specialized toning or strengthening treatment.
It's especially nice for active lifestyles and hair that gets sweaty or oily between washes.
Is "Wake-Up Call" a clarifying shampoo?
I'd call it an effective everyday cleanser rather than a true clarifying or chelating shampoo.
If your primary concern is heavier product buildup and you want more of a scalp-reset experience, Mint Condition is the Dear Brooks duo we'd recommend instead.
Is it good for oily hair?
Yes. The shampoo uses Sodium Coco Sulfate as its cleansing ingredient, making Wake-Up Call a particularly good option for normal-to-oily scalps.
Is it good after working out?
That's actually one of our favorite uses for it. The combination of cleansing + refreshing peppermint makes Wake-Up Call especially satisfying after workouts, hot days or anytime your scalp feels sweaty and less than fresh.
Does the peppermint make your scalp tingle?
You may notice a cooling or refreshing sensation from the peppermint oil. How noticeable it feels will vary from person to person.
If you have a particularly sensitive scalp, we recommend patch testing first and discontinuing use if irritation occurs.
Does peppermint make hair grow?
We don't position Wake-Up Call as a hair-growth treatment. Its purpose is to cleanse, refresh and condition your hair and scalp.
If you're looking for Dear Brooks' strengthening and fuller-looking-hair option, choose Root For Me.
Can I use it every day?
That depends on your hair and scalp.
Normal-to-oily hair may tolerate more frequent cleansing, while very dry, damaged, curly or color-treated hair may prefer less frequent washing or alternating with a gentler shampoo.
Will the conditioner make oily hair greasy?
It doesn't have to. If your roots get oily easily, use a small amount of conditioner and concentrate it primarily on your mid-lengths and ends rather than directly on the scalp.
What's the difference between Wake-Up Call and Mint Condition?
Wake-Up Call → Choose it for simple, refreshing cleansing + conditioning and that invigorating peppermint experience.
Mint Condition → Choose it when you're looking for more of a reset. It has the more complex botanical-oil formula and is your option for excess oil, buildup and hair that feels weighed down.
In other words:
Wake-Up Call = REFRESH
Mint Condition = RESET
What's the difference between Wake-Up Call and Root For Me?
Wake-Up Call is your straightforward refreshing peppermint duo.
Root For Me is specifically geared toward fine, weak, limp or breakage-prone hair, with rosemary, caffeine, rice protein and ginseng.
Can I mix and match Dear Brooks shampoo and conditioner bars?
Absolutely. The matching pairs make choosing easy, but you don't have to stay within one duo.
For example, you could use Wake-Up Call Shampoo for its fresh peppermint cleanse followed by Root For Me Conditioner if strengthening is your bigger concern.
How do I make the bars last longer?
Keep them out of standing water and allow them to dry completely between uses. Our soap saver pads work PERFECTLY to help keep your bars dry and long-lasting.
