[Dear Brooks] "ROOT FOR ME" | Strengthening Shampoo + Conditioner Bars
Rosemary + Caffeine Strengthening Shampoo + Conditioner Bars
STRENGTHEN • NOURISH • SUPPORT FULLER-LOOKING HAIR
Give your roots—and the rest of your hair—a little support.
Root For Me is a strengthening shampoo + conditioner bar duo created for hair that feels fine, weak, flat, or prone to breakage. The two-step system pairs rosemary, caffeine, ginseng, aloe vera and rice protein with nourishing oils and butters to cleanse the scalp, condition strands and help hair feel stronger, smoother and more substantial.
The Root For Me Shampoo Bar thoroughly cleanses the scalp and hair while rosemary, natural caffeine, ginseng and rice protein give this formula its scalp-focused, strengthening edge.
Follow with the Root For Me Conditioner Bar, where rice protein meets cocoa butter and a rich blend of coconut, olive, wheat germ and jojoba oils to soften, smooth and condition without another bottle in your shower.
The result? Fresh roots + softer, stronger-feeling hair with more body and a healthier, fuller-looking appearance.
WHAT HAIR PROBLEM DOES IT SOLVE?
Root For Me is made for hair that feels fine, limp, weak, fragile, flat or prone to breakage. It's also a great choice for anyone who wants to focus on both scalp care and stronger, healthier-looking strands rather than simply adding moisture.
I would not market this as a hair-loss treatment or promise that it “grows hair.” That's an important distinction. Rosemary and caffeine make a compelling scalp-care story, but this finished cosmetic product hasn't been established as a treatment for hair loss.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
Strengthens the Feel of Hair
Rice protein helps support stronger-feeling, more substantial strands and gives this duo a particularly nice story for fine, weak or breakage-prone hair.
Supports Fuller-Looking Hair
Designed to help fine or limp hair look and feel healthier, stronger and more full-bodied.
Scalp-Focused Care
Rosemary, caffeine, ginseng and aloe give Root For Me a scalp-care focus alongside its cleansing and conditioning benefits.
Helps Minimize Breakage Through Conditioning
The conditioner improves softness, slip and manageability, helping reduce the friction and tugging that can contribute to mechanical breakage.
Nourishes Without Forgetting the Roots
Cocoa butter plus coconut, olive, wheat germ and jojoba oils condition dry-feeling strands and help leave hair softer and smoother.
Bottle-Free Hair Care
Concentrated solid shampoo + conditioner bars eliminate the need for traditional liquid shampoo and conditioner bottles.
KEY INGREDIENTS
Rosemary Oil
The hero botanical behind Root For Me. Rosemary makes this formula especially appealing for scalp-focused routines and healthier-looking hair.
Natural Caffeine
Adds another scalp-focused component to the formula and pairs naturally with rosemary in a fuller-looking-hair routine.
Rice Protein
One of the ingredients I'd highlight most prominently. Rice protein helps condition and reinforce the feel of hair while supporting body and stronger-feeling strands.
Ginseng
A botanical ingredient that complements the rosemary + caffeine scalp-care story.
Aloe Vera
Helps condition and support a comfortable-feeling scalp and hair.
Castor Oil
Found in the shampoo bar, castor oil provides nourishing emollience and is especially recognizable to consumers shopping for scalp and hair-care products.
Cocoa Butter
Richly conditions and helps soften hair.
Coconut + Olive + Wheat Germ + Jojoba Oils
Found in the conditioner bar, this nourishing oil blend helps soften, smooth and improve manageability.
ROOT FOR ME SHAMPOO BAR
FULL INGREDIENT LIST
Sodium Coco Sulfate, Castor Oil, Cocoa Butter, Rosemary Oil, Aloe Vera, Natural Caffeine, Rice Protein, Ginseng.
HOW TO USE
Thoroughly wet your hair and the shampoo bar.
Glide the wet bar gently over your scalp and roots several times, or rub it between wet hands to create a lather. Massage the lather into your scalp using your fingertips, then work through the lengths as needed.
Rinse thoroughly and follow with the Root For Me Conditioner Bar.
Allow the bar to dry completely between uses to help extend its life.
PRO TIP: Shampoo is primarily for your scalp and roots. Concentrate your cleansing there and allow the lather to travel through your lengths as you rinse rather than repeatedly scrubbing your ends.
ROOT FOR ME CONDITIONER BAR
FULL INGREDIENT LIST

Glide the bar directly over wet hair, concentrating primarily on the mid-lengths and ends. Work the conditioner through your hair with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.

Fine hair may need only a few passes of the bar, while thicker or drier hair may prefer more.
Allow the conditioner bar to dry completely between uses.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What hair type is Root For Me best for?
Root For Me is especially suited to fine, weak, limp, fragile or breakage-prone hair and anyone looking for stronger, fuller, healthier-looking strands.
It can be used on other hair types as well, but its primary focus is strength + scalp care + body.
Is Root For Me a hair-growth shampoo?
No. Root For Me is a cosmetic shampoo + conditioner system designed to support a healthy scalp environment and help hair feel stronger and look fuller and healthier.
It is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent hair loss, and we don't promise hair regrowth.
Then why rosemary + caffeine?
Rosemary and caffeine are popular ingredients in scalp-focused hair routines. We've paired them with rice protein, ginseng and aloe to create a formula focused on scalp care and stronger, healthier-looking hair.
Does it help with breakage?
Root For Me is a great option for breakage-prone hair. Rice protein supports stronger-feeling strands, while the conditioner adds slip, softness and manageability, which can help reduce the friction and tugging associated with brushing and styling.
Is it good for fine hair?
Yes—this is probably the Dear Brooks duo I'd recommend first for fine or limp hair, especially when the goal is strength, body and a fuller-looking appearance.
Because the conditioner contains several rich oils and cocoa butter, start with a small amount on fine hair and concentrate it on the mid-lengths and ends.
Is it good for thinning hair?
If your hair looks or feels less full than it used to, Root For Me is the Dear Brooks duo we'd point you toward for its strengthening and fuller-looking-hair benefits.
However, it is not a treatment for medical hair loss or thinning. Sudden, significant or unexplained hair loss is something to discuss with a healthcare professional.
Is this a protein hair-care product?
It contains rice protein in both the shampoo and conditioner. If your hair responds well to protein-containing hair care, Root For Me may be a particularly good fit.
Can I use it every day?
Frequency depends on your hair and scalp. Because the shampoo uses Sodium Coco Sulfate as its cleanser, people with normal-to-oily scalps may prefer it more frequently, while very dry, curly, damaged or color-treated hair may prefer less frequent washing or alternating it with a gentler cleanser.
Will the conditioner weigh down fine hair?
A little goes a long way. Because the conditioner contains cocoa butter and several plant oils, fine hair should start with a small amount and focus application on the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots.
What's the difference between Root For Me and Mint Condition?
Root For Me → Choose it for strength, breakage, fine or limp hair and a fuller-looking appearance.
Mint Condition → Choose it for excess oil, buildup and that deeply fresh, reset feeling, followed by nourishing conditioning.
Can I use the shampoo and conditioner separately?
Absolutely. They're sold individually, but they're designed to complement each other. For the complete Root For Me experience, use the strengthening shampoo followed by the matching conditioner.
How do I make the bars last longer?
Keep your bars out of standing water and allow them to dry completely between uses. A well-draining soap dish or bar holder is ideal.
